In the past these plants have had yellow leaves, and having the rust and purple tones is very beautiful.
I've never seen them with so much pinky orangeyness before...
last year I think maybe they turned a little yellow, but mostly just got brown and fell off.
I forgot to mention--and take a picture of--our forsythia. It is all yellow, just like it is in the spring, but with different parts of the plant.
The forsythia is a yellow that is almost as intense as their flowers.
