I feel so bad because he had the lump for a while, but Stan and I thought it was another lipoma or fatty cyst like he had on his back last year. But today it seemed bigger, and fortunately our vet is able to get us in so quickly. He already had a fibrosarcoma removed from his foreleg last fall. This is just too much.

I'm more worried about the pug than I am myself. I'm sure he'll be fine but it is still worthy of worry.
I'm so sorry, Ann & Stan. I hope your pug makes it through healthy and fine.
Thank you Bran, he's doing well after the operation, but we still don't know the results of the tissue...what grade the tumor was or whether it was fully excised.
All the bad stuff seems to be happening at once right now.
Oh my... I hope he is still doing fine
He's fine. The tumor was fully excised and the margins were clean. We do not know, however, if there is cancer in his lymph system. We took him to the vet yesterday to have his sutures removed, and they tried to aspirate his lymph node near where the tumor was. The good news is that the lymph node was so small it was hard to find, meaning it was not enlarged, and that is a good sign. But because the node was so hard to find, when they tried to aspirate it they didn't get any "lymph substance", so a complete diagnosis is incomplete. Thanks for your concern, Tove.
That sounds good, and Merry Christmas to all of you 2- and 4-legged:))
Thanks Tove. He was sick yesterday. Shivering and whining. We took him to the vet because if it was something serious, I wanted to get it diagnosed before the big snow storm we got that snowed us in. Vet couldn't find a thing wrong, gave him a clean bill of health. Naturally, he stopped shivering and whining at the vet's, sort of like when you bring a car in for service, it stops making that clunking noise. So we take him home and then he starts the shivering and whining again. Put his kennel in the bedroom and slept with him at night. He'd whine (didn't know if he was shivering), but when the furnace would come on he'd stop. He seems pretty normal this morning. I don't know what is going on, if he's just cold or he hurt something that's not inflamed or something the vet can detect.
He has a great appetite, goes to the bathroom normally, no vomiting, no limping, no sign of having gotten into anything bad (no chewed up residue on the foor), temperature in normal range when I took it and when the vet took it. No idea what could've been wrong.
Plato goes through periods where he shivers and whines, but that's normal for him. It's part of being a skinny Boston with hardly any fur covering. But for Lucifer Sam, I just worry more because of the cancer history. And several years ago he had a fever of 105. He was acting yesterday like he did that day , except he didn't have a fever this time.
So who knows.
I can feel your pain. Nothing stresses me more than sick animals. Didn't have a moment of relax whenever that happened.
Get well now Lucifer Sam, so your mom and dad can lean back and breath again. (yes, I know, bad English...;))
Lots of hugs
Thanks! He's doing fine now.
It is a huge relief that Lucifer Sam is doing better. He is a very loving dog and full of affection.
Oh, I'm so glad to hear that, Ann & Stan :))
