About the Prayer Plant: the white shoots that were originally below the surface that I found when I was transplanting, I placed above the surface when I put them in the new pots. Over the past few days they have developed more green and darker colors, so I suspect that they will be the future of the plant. Keep your fingers crossed. I would say "pray for my prayer plant" but that would be so tacky, so I'm only saying it in an ironic sense.

Can atheists have prayer plants? Or must I strictly stick to the Latin name, Maranta?

Maybe I'm more of an adeist as opposed to an atheist. I don't think of myself as being especially "flat" and lacking in spirituality, but when the word "god" enters into it, I'm out of there.

I prefer god spelled backward.

And speaking of which, it's interesting to watch people when they visit, to see whether they're cat people or dog people. Stan's sister and her friend who came over last night were definitely dog people. Johanna is definitely a cat person who loves dogs too. Tim is a dog person who loves cats too. Stan's mom is a dog person who likes cats. My mom likes/accepts dogs. My dad is just a cat person.

Stan and I are bi-animal. We swing both ways and need both animals in our lives to be happy.

It's the people who are neither cat nor dog people...those you really have to watch out for.

I guess you have to stick to latin :oD

And yes, the bi-something persons are obviously the dangerous ones ;o]

This is a helluva good entry =o)

I still can't tell if I'm a cat or dog person. I think that I am a lot like a cat, and I love my cat—but that's mostly because she is as affectionate and playful as a dog. I really like most dogs (the fun and friendly fun ones!), yet I don't know if I'd call myself a dog person. It's a conundrum...

Do rabbit persons count? I'll think good thoughts on your prayer plant so that the young 'uns sprout and live. Of course atheists can have prayer plants, otherwise prayer plants wouldn't be created...

Bunny people count too. I wish I had a bunny, alas, with cats and a Boston...nearly impossible, although my dad claims to have had multiple cats and a rabbit while growing up and they got along well. Plus I'm not really sure about the allergy thing either...
