I wish it was only a dream

Hi. My name is Ann. I am currently connected at 1400 bps.

At least I'm actually connected. It took 5 tries to get a line.

How awful! At that rate you could deliver files by driving in your car faster then downloading!

Actually, now I'm connected at 44000 bps which is on the slow-side of what I usually have.

Watch my connection get peachy right before the cable guy comes. Too bad (gives the bird to Ameritech). Only one more week.... b'bye phone lines.

My poor ISP...I've been so loyal to them for 6 years and they really are a good dialup service. Nothing against them except their homepage is rather, um...well... Here's a recommendation for Global Dialog (www.gdinet.com) if you need a dialup in southern Wisconsin, anyone.

I'm still in the old days of the screechy modems. I live too far in the country to have cable modems I think...

I'm always complaining that I hate living in dorms (after three plus years, I think that's fair), but the one thing that always shuts me up is when I remember that when I move out, I have to pay for an Internet connection that can't possibly be as fast as the one I get here for free...
