The post to piss off everyone in the world

So there was this kid in North Carolina who wore a t-shirt to a mall that said "Homosexuality is sin, Islam is a lie and abortion is murder.' Evidentially, he felt it was his "mission" to wear this t-shirt as part of witnessing. The mall security guard made him remove it, or gave him the option of turning it inside-out. I think they should've just let the kid alone and let him deal with the consequences said shirt would ensue, like getting the crap kicked out of him by a pro-abortion Lesbian Muslim. The only problem, is that the kind of people who would find issue with his t-shirt are not the kind of people who would tend to beat someone up, unlike the kind of people who would find issue with someone wearing a t-shirt that expressed liberal views. Hell, those kind of people will want to kick you into the ground if you so much as look sideways at them.

My point is that there's just too much interference because "people will get offended." I don't agree with the kid's t-shirt slogan at all, but those in power can just as easily censor any number of my husband's t-shirts...the "Dead Pool" t-shirt that was given to him as a gag gift (ugh), or even the Titan Arum t-shirt that we got when we saw that incredible flower...someone might mistake it for a phallic symbol and find offense in that.

That being said...

...is anyone else really annoyed by gay men on tv lately? First let me preface this by saying that I have nothing against homosexuality, in fact, my view is almost diametrically opposed to those "hate the sin, love the sinner" types. Well, it's not exactly like I love the "sin." In fact, I don't see it as a sin in the first place. It's just the way some people are, and there's nothing wrong with that. I'm very heterosexual myself, but I'd sure hate it if someone held that against me. I'm basically of the mind that there is no sin, so why hate it? However, WHY MUST THEY PICK THE MOST AFFECTED GAY MEN FOR TV? Now, I don't watch "tv shows." I watch news. But I am aware of this show that exists through previews I've seen, called "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" or something. Supposedly this guy (who doesn't trust his wife to decorate the house because maybe she's an imbecile and will put up furry bunny wallpaper? Who knows) gets a team of gay men to decorate for him to prevent him from making typical heterosexual guy blunders like mixing khaki shades with teal bedspreads or somethng. Am I right here? I haven't watched it. Well, some of these gay men have so many affectations, it's absurd. The lisp, the swish, the sarcastic Paul Lynde type humour...why does this have to exist? Am I the only one that finds this nauseating? I don't care if they were heterosexual men, or hetero women, or homo women, I do not like that exaggerated affectation.

This all gets back to irony and Archie McPhee. When I used to go with Tim to the Shamrock, it was fun for a while. Stan and I were the outsider happy little heterosexual couple going into a gay bar with our gay friend. It was fun on Halloween, and the first few "gay brunches" we went to were fun as well. But it just got to be too much for me after a while. I can't explain it. It had nothing to do with homosexuality, though, it had to do with affectation. Pretension. Sarcasm and Irony. Nothing was real, it was all silly, like I was on a stage set with actors. It was one bobble-headed nun doll gag gift after another.

I think I've let Tim down by not wanting to go to the Shamrock's "Gay Brunch" anymore. I think I've let him down in a lot of ways. I've let my serious self come through much more in recent months. I don't find everything as lighthearted as I used to.

If your serious side is your dark side I will love you always.

I can't believe that, isn't it against freedom of speech or something? You just CANNOT tell someone what they can and cannot wear.

PS: Being gay is considered fasshionable now. Cheers
