DREAMs: Captain Ahab in Furs

Well, the first part of this dream places right up there on the rock-and-roll-related surreal-o-meter. I was watching Ebert and Roper and they were reviewing a new movie starring Lou Reed. I couldn't figure out the plot (it was an indie film, of course), but Lou was made up like an old time New England character like Captain Ahab, complete with beard without moustache. Very odd. It looked like an interesting film; Stan and I made a note that we wanted to see it.

Then I was going around to various grade school libraries so I could print a document from a computer disk or something. Guess I didn't have a printer at home or something, who knows. But then I had to either read or listen to some narration that was created by a grade-schooler (probably around 6th-8th grade or so) and I couldn't understand what was being said. I had absolutely no comprehension of it whatsoever. This worried me, like I was losing my mind or something. Somehow I managed to call up my mom and tell her about this, and she said it was probably the fault of the kid, that they don't speak proper English or something. I knew it wasn't that, I knew the problem was with me, not the kid. It was kind of spooky.
