Plant dreams
This is an old dream I forgot to post from the last time I visited my mom in Colorado: Thursday morning October 14th I had a cacti dream. I was looking at lots of Stapeliads and some small globular cactus plants and they I was looking at some Opuntia seedlings. These seedling were from plants I have seeds for, but haven't planted yet. Then Ann and I were driving on North College Av. in Ft. Collins Colorado and there were large Opuntia cactus plants growing in flower pots along the road for decoration. The pads of these cacti were over two feet across and the plants were five or six feet tall. They were beautiful and they had green hair like structures growing out of them along with long spines. They were very impressive dark green plants and I was thinking that they were the grown up plants from my seedling, which would be from the seeds I haven't planted yet. Here is a dream I just had: I had a very rare dream, because both of my adopted (to be specific) parents were in this one. Before I went to bed I was working on some of my Haworthia plants, and I'm very happy with how well they are growing. I was dreaming about these plants and my father, who has been deceased since 1997 came to look at the plants. He was very impressed with their beauty and then my mom was there with him and she also thought the plants were very beautiful. I can't remember ever having a dream with both my mother and father in one together. The dream is even stranger, because my father would have never been interested much in succulents when he was alive. He was an agricultural and crop oriented person, but who knows maybe someday Haworthia species will have some commercial use. On another level it seems to me that the dream may be foreshadowing the possibility that my mother may leave the realm of the living soon. I remember how much interest and learning I gained from my Aunt Vivian and my Grandmother H. about growing house plants. I doubt if very many Haworthia varieties were available as house plants in the 1970s, but these two women would have loved them. My very first cactus and succulent plants came from my mother's mom, as well as a lot of growing and propagation knowledge. These Haworthia plants are very beautiful and I wish I could show them to my grandmother now. Oddly enough though I doubt if my mom would find them to be that interesting. Maybe house plant interest skips generations whether a person is adopted or biological?

That is kind of spooky that both your mom and dad were in that dream together, especially in light of what we discussed at Pancakes House with my Joe Pesci dream.
