DREAM, Ferns, and Complaints
I had another one of those weird dreams about a large parking garage that morphs into a department store which morphs into university buildings. I have lots of dreams like this. I have this "sports injury" that started last summer/fall. I was playing with the pug while reclining on the futon. I was pulling a tug toy with him. I was pulling hard, and he was pulling harder. He let go, my arm snapped back, and I pulled an upper arm muscle. It still hasn't healed, in fact, I think it's gotten worse. I tried this stupid medicating patch last night, and now I'm afraid the whole house smells like Luden's Cough Drops/Old Person. It's really gross...I'm burning lots of candles. Now I don't know what to do with this bag of patches, since no way in hell am I wearing them again. Stan said he'd wear them if he needs to...but...then the house would still smell like Old Person. Maybe he could wear them to work to annoy the really crusty Old People. I'm trying to grow ferns again. They seem so delicate and fragile. They have a strange personality: so vulnerable, but with a really ancient, prehistoric soul. If I manage to kill them again, I'm going to be very depressed. I'm a bit annoyed that so much of the work being put out on (a certain online art project I'm involved in) is so much cobbled together photos people probably swipe from the 'net. It just seems too easy to grab a picture of Bush, a naked ass, Bin Laden, some food products, a major corporate logo, and put some words together and people gloat over how great it is and what a fantastic (finished piece) it makes. It's very much the beer can intellectual Beavis and Butthead approach to art. I want to see someone's own hand/mouse/digital pen or their own camera lens involved. What's the point of following an art tradition when there's no art, just copy and paste? That being said, I wish I was involved in MORE of (this project) --I can't understand why people with higher numbers than me (i.e., they probably signed up later) have done MORE of them than I have.
