ILLUSTRATION FRIDAY: Ambition

For Illustration Friday.

I guess I'm a little pessimistic about the word "ambition," due to having had it once, then being run off the road by expensive SUVs.

I luv the lost tire on the side of the road. I think the 'Next 80 Years' sign represents a downward spiral. Kinda gloomy message but this is a hot illustration! I like it !

Real live begins after the candle of ambition can no longer burn. For the most part I would rather spend an evening with my pug dog than impress a bunch of important people at an art opening.

It's different now, because ambition is more like the desire to care for the things of life. I think when we are younger ambition is more connected with our sense of self importance. Of course, some people never live on any other level than their own self absorbed ego, but never mind them.

The spiral is a symbol of life, and many spirals overlap and connect with other spirals like a tapestery or fabric. A single spiral, just by itself, could represent a self absorbed -- self centered kind of ambition.
