Irony
September 11, 2001: Planes piloted by terrorists hit trade towers in New York City September 12, 2001: Irony proclaimed Dead September 13: 2001: Thousands of Art Professors in universities all over the country cheer as students now take their assignments seriously.
Just a little discussion over at the exquisite corpse site got me thinking about this. Is there high irony and low irony? 'Cause I get sick of irony myself too, yet other times I really appreciate it. Is it dependent on other factors? Hormones? Can I appreciate irony at certain times of the month?

I still need some irony, but I think as the brain ages it becomes overdosed with smaller and smaller doses of irony. Difficult life experiences also take away our interest in irony. Oddly, is seems some people have no need for ironly at all and look at people with strange confused expressions when they hear something ironic.
