Monday, January 9, 2006A Couple of DREAMs with no Basis in Reality WhatsoeverI was in a somewhat creepy motel room. It had holograph disco wallpaper, which was actually kind of cool, except for the disco posters that accompanied it. Part of the wall was coming down exposing wiring and strange lighting. It had a faucet, but the water poured out onto a table and not into a sink. The place was being remodelled, and the person who owned the place was my mom, which would actually be kind of cool if there was any semblance of reality about it. My mom was more around my age in the dream. I was in a sociology class and we were getting our tests back. I received an "A", another completely unrealistic dream because I really struggled through all those -ology classes back in college. Despite the good grade, there were sure a lot of mistakes on my paper. Professor must've graded on a curve. After class, I got on a bike to go home but the handlebars were so close together it was hard to maneouver. We were standing in line to be "processed" as tourists, where we were handed some loose-fitting clothes and given pamphlets and information by some college student-type young women, then shoved out the door to "have fun". I asked if this was our hotel, and they told us our hotel is over there (pointing another direction). We walk out the door and see a mass of people sitting on a beach that goes on for blocks. We walk down a sidewalk that looks like it could be any urban residential block in North America with deciduous trees, nothing like what I would picture a tropical resort to look like. We were carrying beach towels and I was wearing one of the loose fitting t-shirts (black-colored). We kept walking and saw a very large building that seemed to go on forever as well. It was about 4 stories tall, but very, very long--endless. It seemed to envelop the entire block in a cul-de-sac manor, so that in order to get beyond the building one either had to go into it to go out the other side, or go back from where one came and go around it. The sign on the front of the building was some sort of Fundamentalist/Evangelist church world headquarters. I thought it unfortunate that these people probably had an entire beachfront to themselves. Stan and I found ourselves inside the building. We came out by a room that appeared to have a trial going on. We went down a hallway and found an elevator. Stan got on before I did, and then the elevator doors closed, leaving me behind. I pressed the button and fortunately it opened for me. I got on. Either in the elevator or in another room before we exited the building, someone asked us to sign their gueestbook. Stan signed it with his own signature which is illegible. I decided to sign it with a fake name, one that Stan had used ages ago, "Julie K. Clark" except that when I started to sign the Clark part, I couldn't write the "k" (you know how you are sort of feeble manipulating things in dreams) so I decided to improvise the last part so it came out someting like "Clakerson" or something odd. As we left the building, we found ourselves walking by a creek that let into the sea. Here the water was yellow and discolored, but not in a dirty way, just from the color of the mud and sand. I wanted to put down my towels and belongings there and go in the water because there weren't any people around. I was starting to feel cold from real life (Stan spent the night on the couch because he has a bad cold/sore throat, so I'm always cold without a body in bed with me) but the warmth of the tropical water and mud felt so good. I also dreamt I was looking at clothes in a mall and there were no people around. This is a reocurring dream. Also, I think I dreamt something about a house my parents used to live in in Colorado, but I can't recall that part of the dream right now.
