Saturday, February 4, 2006DREAM: Dead LizardsI had a bunch of lizards, mostly geckos, in an aquarium. They were brightly colored with jewel-like markings. I noticed there was one on top of the cage that was skinny, so I started feeding it mealworms. One of the mealworms was rather big and it looked like it had a hole bored in the side of it. It was dead, but the lizard ate it anyway despite the fact it was not moving. Then I remembered that I had cages of lizards in the living room that I had neglected for months. I went over to it and saw that most of the lizards in it were dead, but the ones that weren't were very aggressive and eating the other living lizards. The living room was sort of like the one at Bohler's hole, with a closet by the window. That's where most of the lizard cages were stored. It was also like the closet in the basement on Grant street where Stan stored his art supplies. I mean, why would I? Maybe if Green Bay was in it, or even Denver, I'd watch it just for fun, and that team would inevitably lose. But I don't even know who's playing. And I don't care. I am so not into this manufactured holiday of sorts. I'm going to be watching Animal Planet's Puppy Bowl like I did last year. But this time there's a kitty half time show. Cool. It appears to have about three different parts to it, and I don't know if they're connected or not. One part involved the story of an immigrant man from India who lived in a very tiny house or apartment with his child and his mother-in-law, who was American (European ancestry). His wife was deceased, and he owned his own business selling music CDs. His entire life was devoted to his business, and he did nothing but work in his shop, day and night, which appeqred to be attached to his place of residence. It was all too much like myself (without the family situation) spending all his time on his business for very little financial gain. It was as if this was a movie I was watching, but then it was like I was in his shop, not looking at CDs, but just hanging out on a back porch where there were a lot of other people. (Part Two) It was like it was in the mountains, and there were some men there wearing shorts, even though it was bloody cold outside (that's soooo Colorado guy look at me I'm tough I'm wearing shorts on a cold day in November...gee...am I thinking of anyone I KNOW here?). For some reason, his lower legs were really close to me, so I started examining them. This is all very non-sexual. His lower legs were absolutely covered in thick black and grey hair, so thick it was rather dog-like, not human at all. I start to feel his leg hair and am stunned at the thickness of it. Another weird part was that the thick hair growth stopped at his knees, so that it looked like he was wearing hairy socks. And yet another weird part is that his legs were so THIN, like young adolescent girl leg thin. And tan too. Part Three is weird because it almost might've taken place somewhere before part two or one, but I don't know. I was supposed to meet some people at a spot in the Colorado mountains, either Pikes Peak or Red Rocks. I have no idea which. I had no way to get there (Stan was not in the picture, oddly) so I had my parents take me (yeah, like as if they would volunteer to do that. and as if I'd let them). When I got there, it was like an area outside a public gather place like a ski area or a large restaurant with a outside eating area. One of the persons there was someone we used to know from Wisconsin (DW). Another one was a taller, blonde woman, but I don't know who that person was. We were out on this porch area (maybe the same porch area by the Indian CD guy with hairy-legged shorts-wearing visitors) which is on a mountainside, overlooking a large vista of mountains with weird touristy sculptures like the kind you see around Madison parks made out of steel and cement, but on a HUGE scale so that they can be seen far away. It was also sort of Arches-like. Since I was the last to arrive,I asked the other women if they had hiked around the area yet, and they had said no. Before I arrived at that spot, I actually had hiked a bit of a way to get there, so I had no desire to hike anymore. Damn, those hairy legs were bizarre. Posted by Ann on 02/03/06@09:55 AM CST ..::Link::..A Whisper Inside.Thursday, February 2, 2006The Beets Weren't Bad! (and a DREAM)So I tried the beet juice in my hair today, and I couldn't really tell that much difference. There might've been a bit of a reddish-purplish sheen in the darker areas, actually, but that might just be my imagination. Reading information on the web about dyeing with beet juice, they recommend doing a rinse (pour over your hair 15 times) and doing this for several weeks or so before any effect is noticed. I didn't do it this way, I just dipped my hair in steaming hot juice for about 5 minutes and let it set for a couple hours. Next time I'll try the Kool Aid conditioner method. So I had a can of beets (I just used the juice from the can for my hair) left over. Not knowing how to prepare them, I thought I'd just improvise with half the can. I put them in a frying pan with some olive oil, paprika, dill, dried lemon peel, garlic and salt and fried them that way. I don't have any measurements and times because it was all improvised and a best judgment kind of thing. They were actually good, and the addition of all those ingredients and spices subdued the sugary quality of beets which I don't like. -- I had a dream that Stan and I had to catch a plane in Denver. We were in Fort Collins, but we were travelling east, toward Denver (dream logic). It was snowing really bad, and I was driving the car like it was a toboggan (sp?). I was going downhill and the window was completely covered with snow and I couldn't see. It was about a quarter to one, and our plane left at one thirty. I told Stan we wouldn't make it in time, but he said not to worry, but if we found ourselves stuck in Denver, we could spend the night there. Well, I see no other option at that point! Posted by Ann on 02/02/06@01:15 PM CST ..::Link::..6 Screamers.Wednesday, February 1, 2006Very Odd DREAMSDream 1, around 1 am: I was at my parents house, in my former bedroom which is now my mom's room. It was at night and was looking out the window, which was larger and longer. Suddenly, my parents appear in front of the window. They were all white, like they are, so they glowed like ghosts in the night. This scared the shit out of me, so I screamed very loud. My parents were saying something reminderly, redundant and parental, like, "don't forget to put the blah blah blah in the blah blah blah." I can't remember exactly what it was, but it certainly wasn't worth appearing outside the bedroom window to tell me. I could't stop screaming from my fright, and I saw what used to be a former neighbor of theirs across the street appear from her garage. The lights were on in the garage, and I could tell it was Annette. Her dogs, Spitzes, were running around outside. Annette kept staring over toward my parents house to see who was getting murdered. Dream 2, around 4 am: I had somehow been walking by myself in this reocurring area of dreamland (the part where you walk down an open path and there's a lake or river to the side and the grass gets squishier and muddier and it turns into a pond). But this time, the area was overflowing with water flowing down canals, so much that I had to use some kind of makeshift raft to stay afloat. I was letting the currents of the water take me, and I hoped I would eventually end up somewhere safe where I could get help. The weirdest thing is that the water started to form a wave, pushing me up high on a crest, and then I started to travel backward down the wave to the place I was before. It was very frustrating, but finally I found some sort of outpost where some Land Management government workers were working. There was a woman there, white but tanned, fairly tall, blond, maybe around my age, give or take several years. I tried to talk to her and tell her I had to get out of there and get home, or get to my husband. I told her where Stan was working and who his supervisor was, maybe she knew him and she could help me. Instead, she told me there was nothing they could do for me. I was on my own. I was trying to find dry land, but it was all underwater. Dream 3, around 7 am: I was in a pet store or someplace and I bought some strange animals that are really hard to describe. They could pull themselves into what was either this outer layer of skin, or a shell, but it looked and felt like a sliced green bean or okra. They were sort of insect-like or lizard-like, and when they would awake, they would release themselves somehow from their shells and they became very long with very long tails. They were sort of colored red and white. I had bought four of them, but one of them didn't seem responsive. Wondering if it was dead, I took it over to an animal clinic by the pet store. Glass separated me from the reception desk. The person working there worked on the little creature. I could see it breathe in its green shell, but it didn't respond much. One of the other creatures sprung to full size and hopped out from behind the window. I caught it, but the person working on the non-responsive one took it and put it behind the glass window so that it wouldn't escape while she continued to resuscitate the other one. These dreams exhausted me. It was very hard to wake up. I wasn't really inspired by science until 10th grade.

I'm amazed by this. I guess I really didn't forget everything. Maybe more like, I've actually learned more things since I've been out of school, away from the pressure and pain, and now can absorb ideas and knowledge in a relaxed manner. I was sure I'd get several things wrong. But a perfect 10!? I'm actually proud of myself! I know I wouldn't have done as well in 8th Grade Civics with Mr. Ferguson! Posted by Ann on 01/30/06@10:39 AM CST ..::Link::..3 Screamers.By Ann @ 09:50 AM CST:02:04:06 ..::Link::..Whisper or Scream? |
