Saturday, February 11, 2006XX OlympicsI really love watching the Olympics, Winter, Summer, it doesn't matter. Sometimes the opening ceremonies are a bit over the top with the floor show with children dressed as gawdy snowbunnies popping out of oddly constructed art objects, but this time the performance in Turin was pleasant. However one thing that bugged me...what the hell was it with the mostly Americann disco music during the Parade of Nations? All the bad hits from high school and college prerecorded for your listening unenjoyment. I mean this is Italy, folks. Italy. At least they did have a little bit of Rossini during the ceremony, but still. It really pains me to think of the possibility that The Village People has become retro chic in the land that brought us so many great Classical and Operatic composers. I would've even settled for some unbeknownst-to-me Italian contemporary pop music, but KC and the Sunshine Band? 'the hell? I asked him what was wrong and he said he had gotten into a fight with everyone at work. (there's only 2 other workers there, plus a supervisor that sometimes pops in, so it wouldn't be too hard to piss everyone off). He came home to change his clothes or something. _o_e_ had driven him home and was waiting for Stan outside in an SUV out back. I walked outside with him, and suddenly our backyard turned into my parents backyard. Plato tried to get out but we tried to block him with our feet, and he ended up peeing on the doorjam. I could see his coworker's SUV parked on the street. There were also some people in my parents back yard sitting at a card table playing chess. I recognized them from former jobs, one was a long-haired pony tail guy from Depressions, David, I think, but not sure of his name really, and the other was Alison B. from Pinko's. (I like this part...very surreal and dreamy). For some reason, I get into another SUV and start to drive it. It is yellow with airbrushed dimensionalizing paint effects. The thing keeps veering off to the right. I drive down my parent's street, but I have to go back because I can't manouever the thing and it's freaking me out. (democrat, I assume) Roger looked younger, like maybe the way he did in the 80s or 90s (his hair wasn't grey). I remember feeling very happy and proud that my favorite rock composer was running for office. I was also admiring his nose. Then there was this weird ball game featuring a bunch of Senators tumbling around a ball court, playing football or something. Roger was there as well, but I specifically remember Ted Kennedy bumbling around. (WTF??!?!?!?) It's weird, because the announcement of the vice presidential candidate was made before they chose a presidential candidate. But the choice was eventually made within the course of this dream, and Kerry was chosen again, and there was a collective cosmic groan of disgust that could be heard across dreamland, like how can the Democratic party be so stupid to run him again? (OK, but if there's any symbolism in the dream, maybe the Dem frontrunner in 2008 will be lame, but the VP will be a rockstar, figuratively speaking.) Posted by Ann on 02/07/06@12:39 PM CST ..::Link::..6 Screamers.Nico Sounds Like......he's describing me here where he's talking about his girlfriend, except for the part about reading newspapers (I hate the feel of ink) and books (I have no time working 14 hours a day), although I do actively seek out news and information. And sometimes I go through phases of wearing nail polish, however now is not one of those times. Other than that, it sounds like me, and it sounds like something Stan would write. Unfortunately, when some guys like Nico or Stan say this, some dildos out there automatically assume that the woman is unattractive (as if the dildo is some GQ prize themselves). The thing is, if someone peeled all the plastic off the mannequins they want to date, they'd be in for a big surprise. Or maybe that's why they can't find a woman because they're holding out for some lipo-ed, botoxed, plasticized superbabe that only actually looks good under the right studio lights on the set of Moron TV, and they'll never find it, forever doomed for a life of pizza, beer and dirty socks in guyland where they can be little boys forever, their only true lover their hand.
