Corporal Clegg

I thought I'd seen every early Pink Floyd video out there, but I guess not.

This made my morning.

Makes me wonder what else is hidden away in vaults...

DREAM: Cats and Drugs

I was in a room like my parents' basement. There was a cat in a kennell/carrier that was really hungry. It was a female cat, possibly Persephone, but maybe Natasha, or maybe it was a cat that wasn't ours. I was trying to feed it, simultaneously I was at a computer using a program or a website with an orange interface, very simple-looking like someone with no graphic design or html skills created it with a typewriter and Orbit Orange copy paper. I had to answer questions like, "Why are you here?" "Why do you want to use this website?" Meanwhile, I'm trying to feed this cat without Caligula and the dogs trying to eat her foo. She was terribly hungry and really hoovered her food, which was dry kibble soaked in water. Unfortunately, Caligula and the dogs were hard to contain all by myself. Then I had to keep retracing my steps on the stupid orange website, 'cause once I'd get in with a password, it'd keep locking me out again.

I also remember something about drugs...I was supposed to take some drugs (pills/capsules) that would make me sleep, so I dissolved them in a drink. But when I finished the drink, I realized they were still whole and had not dissolved. It was getting time to wake up, and I thought if I take the drugs now, it'd make me too sleepy to do my work that I needed to do today. I didn't know what to do, but I think I swallowed the drugs anyway, which made me feel especially sleepy IRL.

I figured out

...how to do a search and replace in BBEdit today using Grep. And I've been using this program since...1995? And I just figured it out. Wow. Mind blown away.

DREAMs: Annoying Father and Others

I can only remember portions of my dreams last night:

IRL I was having problems with my digital camera which seem to be resolved now, however the LCD viewer still seems to have colors askew. In the dream, I was on the phone with technical support either for the camera, or for a computer. They were somehow able to show me images/icons via a monitor, and ask me on the phone whether the image I was viewing was an application I was currently having problems with. An image of an icon would flash by, and I would tell them either "no" or "yes" over the phone. Everything seemed to be a "no." As this went on, I was having increased difficulty hearing them, as there seemed to be a lot of noise or static in my surrounds. I look behind me, and my dad is rustling newspapers, going through stacks and stacks of old newspapers. Damn, how I hate newspapers. It was so bloody annoying. I think I told him to stop it, that I'm on the phone. Of course he was indignant. Of course it's OK for him to make noise if people are on the phone, but if he's on the phone, the entire house has to be audibly hermetically sealed.

I was in an old house, possibly the flat Stan and I rented when we moved to Madison. There was a strange door/window in an upstairs room. The frame was quite warped. The weird thing is that the window didn't face the outside of the house, it went into a small area, less deep than a closet even, that had another window that faced the outside. The room was white and green, that ugly pale green color that is in a lot of old houses. Peeling paint. Spiderwebs. Creepy. Odd.

I was in a bathroom stall in a public restroom. I don't know why I was there. The door didn't close fully. I had to lift the door up so that the rod on the latch would be aligned with the hole. That's all I can recall.

DREAM: Bad Storm

I was travelling by myself, I think, at least initially. I was driving, or maybe I was biking. I was in Denver, heading north to Fort Collins. A very bad storm appeared on the horizon, which caused me to stop. I didn't have a cellphone, so I stopped at a grocery store or a mall to use a payphone. I sat down on a row of chairs with my stuff with me. I waited for the person who was currently using the phone to get off, but they continued for ever with idle chat. I saw a phone on the other side of the room, but that would mean having to haul all my stuff over there. I went anyway. I tried to dial my parents' phone number. It would ring once, then nothing. I knew they would worry if I didn't call them to tell them where I was and why I was detained. I thought I could maybe try to get back to Fort Collins on my bike, but I was wearing an evening gown and high heeled shoes, and felt it would be really difficult, especially in a storm. I really wanted someone to come pick me up. Then it was as if I was in a bedroom and Stan was there with me. I was still trying to get ahold of my parents, and I was explaining the problem to him. I told him that if I couldn't find someplace to stay for the night, or if someone couldn't come get me, I'd have to hide out in that bedroom for the night and hope I wasn't found.
