ILLUSTRATION FRIDAY: Mischief

For Illustration Friday.

05-06-05 (68k image)

Just this morning I saw an ant crawling across my keyboard. Making mischief, no doubt, with his bug pals.

The keyboard part is not a photo...I created it myself in Adobe Illustruator (for my Ann-S-Thesia headers), then dropped it in Adobe Dimensions to dimensionalize, then dropped the 3dmf file into Bryce. Mischievious bugs are from Stan's assorted Bug Fonts.

For Enquiring Minds

actressphony (70k image)

Keep in mind that I was not in favor of the peasants with pitchforks calling for Audrey Seiler's blood last year (read entry). This is not what this is about. I am not making fun of Audrey or Jennifer Wilbanks. I am making fun of the cosmos, man... [more]

DREAM: New Car Tim Drove

Stan and I had a small red compact car instead of the rusty old van. And it was almost as if we were living at Bohler's Hole in Fort Collins because we had a shared driveway. Stan was gone at night and I was waiting for him to return. When he came back, he was in the passenger's side of the car and Tim was driving! Stan was telling Tim what to do. I couldn't believe he would let him drive, or that Tim would even want to drive. As he parked the car in the driveway, it was too close to our other car and I was afraid he would hit it. I was just incredulous, mad, and gritting my teeth during the whole ordeal.

DREAM: Lawsuit

I was with a bunch of people. Stan wasn't there. I don't know who they were, but I was looking through some old sketchbook of mine and was laughing that all my drawings looked like ads with leather jacket models.

aside: You know, this is really a very funny constructive criticism of my early drawings from when I was a teenager (30-25 years ago). It wasn't until I got into college that I started putting my people into more situational environments, but when I was starting out, I did more or less just draw frontal standing views....cool rockstar photoshoot stuff. :/aside

One of the people I was with had a dog, and the dog fetched a pencil. We were commenting that it wanted to draw. They were also discussing something about an art gallery, and how they could sue someone so that they could get money to start their own gallery. One of the people they were going to sue was someone I had to deal with about 13 years ago or so...sort of an unpleasant person that I didn't care for. They asked me if I wouldn't mind signing with them on the lawsuit. It would mean that the person being sued would know I was a part of it. I said I didn't mind because I've changed my phone number since she knew me, and she'd have no way to contact me.

The Girl Pugs

Previously, "Girl Pugs" have been a nickname for my feet, since Lucifer Sam has liked them...a lot...if you know what I mean...naughty dog stuff. But yesterday the Girl Pugs manifested in reality. And it was surreal. They came rather late during the last week for the April Pug Play Date. They were two one-year-old matching black cuties, indestinguishable from eachother save for their differently-colored collars, accompanied by their one-eyed fawn mother.

They were the cutest damn dogs on the face of the earth.

Now keep in mind that it is unlikely that anyone would take a Pug in heat to one of these play dates, and most of the male dogs that attend are all fixed. So it wasn't like these little dolls had a bunch of male Pug admirers, all waiting for a chance to... play with The Twins. No, we humans were the guys, and the rest of the Pugs were the girls--our dates. We were at the dance in the school ballroom, we each brought our respective dates (some of us brought two). Then enter the little heartbreakers...twins...gorgeously cobby and Pug-shaped...champion material. We all stare at them with Pug lust in our eyes. We all wanted to take them home, we all wanted a dance with them. We all muttered to eachother how CUTE they were, with utter amazement. Some of the lucky humans got a chance to hold one on their laps, I got a chance to coochie and snuggle one as she sat by my feet. She looked up at me like she really liked it and wanted more. She totally stole my heart. And our dates? They were all jealous. Very jealous. They were being ignored...they were no longer the center of our attention, not with the New Girls on the dance floor.

Lucifer Sam's little fantasy of Girl Pugs, no longer just mom's black-slippered feet, had come into reality, except it wasn't him that was lusting, but Mom and Dad!

He was a very jealous Pug. And I've never had Pug Lust so bad.

DREAM: Mealies, Crates, PeeWee and Rog

I dreamt I found a mealybug/scale insect on the underside of a Hoya that IRL Stan had just treated with his secret organic pesticide method.

I dreamt that I was in my parents basement. They had a whole bunch of those plastic basket crates lining the floors, but they were empty.

I dreamt I had a book of pictures of various things. It was sort of a clip-art book but was in sticker form, so you could peel them out and use them where you needed them. (this actually sounds like a great idea...I wonder if anyone has thought of that? --not that I use clip art, although I do admit I used it for my map outline I did a week ago--but that's about it--) Then the book morphed into a keyboard and I was trying to copy/paste something. There was this guy who I think was Pee Wee Herman on my left, and each time I tried to copy/paste, he would press something on my keyboard to deactivate the action, so I couldn't copy/paste the thing I wanted to copy/paste. I was getting really mad and was trying to nudge him away and stop him from doing that, but he persisted. I had a Ouija board with me (the old kind they don't make anymore that's made out of pressed wood) and whopped him over the head with the board, not hard, just enough to annoy him, and he started acting like it REALLY HURT (picture Pee Wee Herman saying "Ow, my head hurts" and you have a glimpse into my dream). I was scared that I gave Pee Wee a concussion.

OK, and to counteract Pee Wee Herman being in my dream (fortunately), I dreamt I was viewing a monitor (don't know if it was TV or computer) and was seeing an ad for some kind of arts/music magazine. There were a bunch of magazine covers, gridlike across the monitor and one of them had Roger Waters on the cover. I was wondering where I could get a copy, and why I didn't know about this sooner.
