What is going on here?
I saw this in my referrers. OK...weird...since Ornamental Illness doesn't begin with the letter "D." So I start looking at the page, wondering what's going on (BTW, an aside...I found a blog on that page that Bill had been telling me about: Day Old Breadstore...guess he knows the people who do it or went to high school with them or something [and that was a long time ago kids, he's even older than moi])...scrolling down the page, scrolling, and I find an entry in red, "Dave Winer Likes It Up The Butt"...I giggle as it's sort of funny especially since Dave Winer is behind Weblogs.com (the place that banned me because I'm supposedly a spam pinger). Go ahead...click on "Dave Winer Likes It Up The Butt." It goes to ME! What the...? What is going on here? So, let me get this straight...somehow someone submited this journal to weblogs.com under the title "Dave Winer Likes It Up The Butt"?!?! Good Grief. I don't know whether to laugh my head off or be paranoid.
You know, I don't care how who likes what or where...just keep me out of it, OK?

OMG Ann, this is too strange! Sounds like you have one of those groupies that stalks or something! Hope he doesn't decide to try and kill the president for you or something! It never ceases to amaze me how twisted things can become on the net! :o/

Yeah, it's quite weird, isn't it? But killing the president...well, some would say that Bush is cursed because he was elected in an even year and every president (since ???) who's been elected in an even year has either died in office or has been shot (in the case of Reagan, non-fatally).

I've never given Dave W. a second thought (there's many more sinister people on the web, and my kvetch in the Spam Pinger post is not with Dave...it's with the weblogs.com system and whatever glitch is in it that causes someone like me to come up as a spam pinger) but ever since I saw that link at blogrolling, and hence, this post and the ensuing comments, the whole mental picture is quite amusing.
It also makes me wonder...did whoever who submitted the so-called Butt Blog (heretofore known as the "Dave Winer Likes It Up The Butt" blog) do it *after* my Spam Pinger post (because they saw my disgust with weblogs.com) or did they do it *before* I was even banned from weblogs.com, which was WHY I got a whole bunch of hits from weblogs.com because, well, face it, "ornamentalillness" just doesn't have the intrigue to it for weblogs.com visitors as "Dave Winer Likes It Up The Butt", hence *that* is what caused my being banned from weblogs.com (because the title of the Butt Blog [which is NOT MY title] is inflamatory to Dave), NOT the other way around?

You should write Dave and ask. The ping spam thing seem to be a big problem over there, people are discussing it on Metafilter.com (a place for senseless discussions about meaningless topics ;o)

I've decided to not write people unless they write me first, especially if they are web moguls. Now I have no idea what kind of personality DW has, but I'm not taking chances, based on my previous experiences with other web moguls. I've been many times bitten, so I'm many, many times shy.

No, you probably shouldn't ask him if he likes it up the butt ;o) You should ask if it's possible you are a ping spammer because you are also submitted to weblogs.com under the title "Dave Winer likes it up the butt", maybe Dave Winer didn't appriciate it very much. Shall I write him for you?
