04:21:2002 Entry: "Birthday Songs"

Birthday Songs

On my birthdate (which I won't tell you)...OK, June 30, 19(a really suck year in music), the #1 hit in the US was 'Quarter to Three' by U.S. Bonds. What the heck is that?!? I like the UK #1 better: 'Runaway' by Del Shannon.

I was born in a really suck year for music...a couple years after "the day the music died." Then when I was 2, The Beatles came.

What was the #1 hit on your birthdate?

Jeez, Ann... make me do all sorts of research when I should be working...

The answer would be "I've got you babe" by Sonny and Cher.

Roses are Red by Bobby Vinton - July 28, 1962. *that's funny ... I just posted a roses are red poem in my journal today* ...

American Pie by Don McLean. I love that song!! Especially Madonna's coverversion =o)

That is so ironic, Nick, because I already made two references to that song today, one in the post above, and one in the comments in my Ann-archy post.

WEIRD.

Doo doo doo doo
(Twilight Zone music background).

You know, I never heard Madonna's cover. Yes, as a matter of fact, I have been living in a cave on Mars for the past few years.

#1 in the UK on my birthday was "Ticket To Ride" by the Beatles. #1 in the US was "Mrs Brown You Have A Lovely Daughter" by Herman And The Hermits. I was born in Spain though, does this make a difference? *lol*

Looks like you've got the best birthday song yet, Maria. And no, I don't think that it matters that you were born in Spain...I don't think it's like Astrology or anything. :-D...let's hope not anyway, with my U.S. #1 it would mean that I'd be doomed forever in obscurity! 8-P
