DREAM
I dreamt Stan and I tried to visit a friend we used to know. We called his house, and a brother answered, telling us that he was in jail. We thought that odd. I think he said he was in the Rock County Jail, which doesn't even make sense since this person doesn't even live in Wisconsin. Stan and I decided we'd go visit him. Now I've never been to the Rock County Jail (in any capacity) but I've been past the Dane County Jail and Stan's been inside (delivering meals to the inmates...don't get any wrong ideas!), but this jail in my dream looked nothing like how I'd imagine it to look like. It was more like the old Fort Collins Library...turn of the century red brick, classic architecture. When we arrived there, the dream mutated. I can't remember if we actually saw our friend, but I do remember something about painting an envelope orange. And I also dreamt I was getting a new set of teeth coming in my mouth, replacing my existing teeth, and the new ones were coming in crooked and misshapened and brown. Not brown as in discolored, but brown as in that was the color they were supposed to be. It was a brown color not too dissimilar from chocolate, but it actually reminded me of the hideous plastic faux-wood moulding we removed from the windows on our now beautiful bedroom when we first bought our house. (What WERE people thinking back then?!?!) One of the teeth was pushing on a molar, displacing it. I was hoping it would actually push the molar out, so that I'd have more room in my mouth. I hate teeth dreams!

I'm just wondering, do you miss Fort Collins? Did you like or dislike very much to live there or feel very happy or unhappy the period you lived there? Cause I think you have lived there or?? ;o)

I miss my friends who live in/around Fort Collins. My parents live in Fort Collins (I don't really miss them; I see them maybe once every two years or so when I visit out there and we inevitably get on eachother's nerves when we are there, although I think they miss me). I miss the good times Stan and I had there. I miss my former boss, John Leonard, and the women I worked (his harem! heh heh!) with for a short while before we all moved on to other things (that was the best place to work at the time...Kinko's Mac typesetting around 1986 while it was still a sort of beta test site before it got taken over by evil corporate greed).
That's where I fell in love with Macintosh! Sometimes I miss a little bit of the way Fort Collins used to be a long time ago, like in the 70s. Fort Collins was and always will be to me, a 70s sort of place.
Other than that, I don't miss it at all. I don't miss any memories other than those with Stan...(and the friends we made there) the rest (pre-Stan) was miserable. I don't miss what it has become...overpriced boom town filled with yuppie "immigrants" from other states thinking it's "god's country." (blech)
It's so ironic you ask this...my first exquisite corpse that I started working on (which I later rejected in lieu of a different image) was sort of based on my feelings about Fort Collins. I'll try to post it later.
