04:21:2002 Entry: "Greta Van Suspicious"

Greta Van Suspicious

I really should be resting, but I had to email off some fonts, so I decided to Google some info on something I heard about today, Greta Van Susteren's facelift. OK, let's just say I'm out of it, I hadn't even realized she'd gone to FOX; I thought she was just on vacation and still at CNN. (Watching too much HGTV and Olympics makes for not very Newschannel savvy Ann).

I was appalled. I didn't even realize she was 47...I thought she was closer to my age. She needed a facelift? What? Her eyes were fine they way they were before. She looks weird in this picture, post plastic surgery.

I swear, FOX must have brainedwashed her. I'm just suspicious that had she stayed with CNN, she wouldn't have changed her face.

When are we going to have a female newsperson that looks like Walter Cronkite, moustache and all? This reporterbarbie phenomenon has just got to stop.

OK, I'm going back to lying on the couch with snuggledog.

Does anyone NEED a facelift? As far as I know wrinkles has never killed anyone ;o)

I heard CNN is losing viewers because too many of their reporters are too ugly. As usual I just thought oh well, those americans ;o)

CNN reporters ugly? I always thought Crossfire's Tucker Carlson was a cutie, despite the fact I often don't agree with him. (Stan thinks he's a jerk) Hmmm...I just don't see the ugliness, either that or I'm not affected by it. I mean, maybe if The Elephant Man was a reporter, yeah, that would be distracting, but I think what the average American thinks is "ugly" I define as character or uniqueness. Sometimes I'm embarrased I live here.

I haven't had a really close look at those CNN reporters cause I mostly watch CNN because of the news. One should think it's the way reporters present the news that counts and not how sexy they are. When I want to see something sexy I look in the mirror ;o) The last one was a joke, a bad one even ;o)

I guess we're all embarrassed of our country and nationality sometimes, I know I am.

B.t.w I don't know how you could guess Greta was at your age, not to argue with you, but she look pretty much older to me.

Anyway, facelift sucks, 50 year old women without wrinkles look weird.
After my humble opinion of course.

The local news here in Madison is really bad. They don't even hire reporterbarbies...they hire reporterskippers! This one newscaster has a voice that squeaks. She sounds like a munchkin and she looks like she's about 23. To me, the quality of the voice and presentation is the most important, not the way they look. It just happens that Peter Jennings has all of those positive qualities ;-)

Sometimes people my age do look a lot older than me, which is why I thought Greta was closer to my age. Maybe she looks more my age like when I'm without makeup after a hangover. ;-P

Oh, and I know a certain father-in-law who would think you have nothing to be embarrassed of over your country. :-O

Oooops I did it again!

I didn't post it twice to brag extra, it was a mistake!! ;o)

Posted by Nick Aliasso @ 02/18/2002 01:57 PM CST

That's cool. :)

But which nationality is that? (Sorry...I'm not keeping up with the medal count)

Posted by Ann @ 02/18/2002 05:28 PM CST

You don't know my nationality?? Really? Wow, I feel very mysterious ;o)

Posted by Nick Aliasso @ 02/18/2002 08:05 PM CST

I know you're part Norweigan, Austrian, Irish and German? And you live in Germany, right? But which part of it won all the medals? (And I know it's not the Irish part!)

Posted by Ann @ 02/18/2002 08:19 PM CST

Jeg trodde du visste at jeg er norsk. Jeg bor i Norge! ;o)

Posted by Nick Aliasso @ 02/18/2002 08:58 PM CST

Ich wohnen nicht in Deutschland. Ich bin Norwegisch, aber meine Grossvater war Deutsch und meine Grossmutter war Irisch. ;o)

Posted by Nick Aliasso @ 02/18/2002 09:14 PM CST

Um, ok, I feel stupid. I'm sorry, I thought you lived in Deutschland! (makes motion of finger shooting at head). Well, never mind what I said about a certain father-in-law then...

D'oh!

Oh, and I have no idea what you said in Norweigan! 8-o (Alta Vista helped me with the German) ;)

Wow, we really hijacked this entry from vain reporters, huh?

My last comment just made me think:

"Greta VAIN Susteren."
