DREAM
Stan and I were with his (adopted) sister and her husband at a restaurant. Stan and I ordered alcoholic drinks, but they didn’t, although his sister started feeling drunk. We started talking about Stan’s mom’s house, and as we were talking about it, I could actually see it. It was nothing like her house, either her current duplex or the house she lived in with Stan’s late father. It was a ranch, but with different level floors, and very dark with strange textured walls that involved unique materials like mirrors and bricks. I also could see Stan and Tim working on an attic or roof while we were having this talk. Then we left and got in our van, although it had a trunk like a sedan. The van started driving itself, and Stan began running along behind it; he was doing some sort of maintance work back there. I figured that I’d better take over the driving duties because we stared entering heavy traffic. I got behind the wheel, but it was like there was no seat in the vehicle, so I was sitting on the floor and trying to brake, but the van kept going. Poor Stan was having a hard time trying to keep up. I didn’t know where we were; the town was like a weird hybrid of the town Stan grew up in, Racine, WI, and Fort Collins, CO. Definitely wasn’t Madison, though. Then I got “home” and the house was all brick. There was a tree by the side of the house that had weird animal life in it; caterpillars, frogs and clams were in the tree. I climbed up a chain link fence and got into the tree and started trying to salvage the life forms, I think. There were also a lot of other people climbing the tree/fence. Then I was sort of stuck and couldn’t figure out how to get down. It became night and started to get cold.
